BLACKBIRD toile shirt

A BLACKBIRD-esque proposal that takes a "toile" – a garment in the process of completion – and makes it a finished shirt.

With no collar or buttons, the simple design retains only the function of being worn. Its seemingly unfinished appearance, paradoxically, strengthens its identity as a garment.

Another feature is the generous width, with a pattern that minimizes contact with the body. Air circulates easily, making it light to wear even during Japan's hot and humid seasons. The check pattern, which includes red and pink, is a bit unconventional, but because the shape is stripped down, it surprisingly doesn't look excessive.

It's a BLACKBIRD-unique piece that doesn't quite fit into either category of shirt or jacket, finished or unfinished.
